Philanthropy

From the time of our founding, Alpha Delta Pi has believed in the importance of giving back to our community. A dedication to philanthropy guides our members to spend time in the service of those who need it most. Our international organization’s commitment to Ronald McDonald House Charities has led to the donation of over $15,000,000 over the course of our partnership. More than 350 Ronald McDonald Houses in 64 countries help keep families with seriously ill or injured children together when they need it most by offering them a comfortable, temporary residence in proximity to a medical facility.

As a sorority, one of our main goals is to give back to our society. Over the years, we have been able to reach these goals through several means like hosting fundraisers and collecting donations. The Beta Theta Chapter helps support the local Ronald McDonald House Manitoba. Our annual event that we have supported as a chapter for almost 30 years, is the Lion Share Spaghetti Dinner event which is one of the biggest fundraisers for our chapter.

We have 200+ people attend our all-you-can-eat spaghetti dinner every year. We have a huge silent auction at the dinner as well with over 20+ prizes! Other events we have hosted to raise funds include pie-a-pi, bake sales and other fun things!

Through this event, we have raised a substantial amount of money that we have donated to The Ronald McDonald House Charities.  Through events like these, we are able to grow our bond of sisterhood as a chapter as well as making a positive impact on our society.

Sorority members and alumnae also donate their time by visiting Ronald McDonald House during the week. An event we like to host for the Ronald McDonald House Manitoba at least once every two months is called Home For Dinner. During this event, sisters volunteer their time to cook the residents of the Ronald McDonald House Manitoba a nice meal.

We also help out with multiple charities and various events on campus.  We encourage members to volunteer at other organizations that hold special meaning to them or causes they are passionate about.

Every year, we honor our sisters for their hard work they put into volunteering. Elbereth Luo won the award this year for most volunteer hours! Our chapter as a whole volunteered over 350 hours so far this year!
